The Department of Pharmacy was established at Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvaidyalaya in the year 2024 with the prime objective of providing the best pharmacy education in the lower part of Assam and the North-Eastern region of India, to develop efficient & confident pharmacy professionals by imparting professional knowledge while giving them the appropriate practical hands-on experience of the field, to maintain the pharmaceutical education at par with the other leading institutes providing similar education in the field, an up-to-date research in order to provide technical standards and manpower in the area of pharmacy, and, also to promote research and development activities, Social Harmony and peace in health care system in the North Eastern India.
The Department of Pharmacy at Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya Nasatra, had simultaneously introduced two main courses in the stream; the first one is the Diploma in Pharmacy and second one being the Bachelor of Pharmacy courses. Each of the Diploma and the Bachelor course having an intake capacity of 60 students every year. The Pharmacy Courses are duly approved by the concerned governing bodies namely the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The Department of Pharmacy along with the basic learning in the field of pharmacy will also provide incorporation of extracurricular activities along with the courses like regular health camps, extempore speech programs; Quizzes etc.
The Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya is one of the leading institutes in North Eastern India with spiritual based value education. An exceptional curriculum is designed for
the Department of Pharmacy to prepare quality pharmacists for the future with professional capabilities which would play a major role in health care system of the North-Eastern region and entire country in the future. Not only in health care system, pharmacists also play a vital role in the society, as a community Pharmacists or as in Hospital Pharmacists instruct and counsel on the proper use of medicine, its effectiveness, and any related adverse effects to the society or to the concerned common people. Besides these areas, it is also as an integral part of Industry contributing with research in medicinal drugs as well as developing, manufacturing and supply of medications in Market, government, military, wholesaling etc. Pharmacy practice includes specialization like Academic, Clinical, Compounding, Hospital, Military, Industrial pharmacist etc. A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is the gateway for entering Pharmacy sector in Medical and Health Care Industry.
